Surely we all remember how the last two elections were decided under suspicious circumstances? According to Joel, "ain't a damn thing changed!". More states than ever before are employing electronic voting machines despite thier obvious inherent flaws. Regardless there is a bright side to this story...a bunch of new songs are on thier way. We expect to be releasing some new music in the very near future. So do stay tuned...

New news from Fort Nashborough

Just an update for all of you who are curious and inquiring about what's going on with Joel since he moved from New York to Nashville at the end of February.

Joel says, "So far so good". He's been trying to get hired on at the Ryman Auditorium as an usher or security guard or popcorn goto guy but they have been slow to reply. Their office stated that they were undergoing sweeping changes in their HR dept. so delays are to be expected. For now we have both been cater waiting at country clubs and hotels through temp agencies. And most recently he started a temp assignment at Vanderbilt University.

Things are definitely slower all around down here. We've been enjoying that pace for the most part but trying to land a decent job here is like applying for the CIA or something. Their are endless interview sessions(some on the phone and some in person), Wonderlic psycholgical assessment tests, Criminal background checks, Credit checks, Reference verifications, etc. etc. etc... And this is all for jobs that are part-time i.e. no benefits, no vacation pay, no job security. And to top it all off these jobs hardly pay $10 per hour. It's crazy.

Joel says of being in Nashville, "outside of big brother stamping us with the mark of the beast just so we can eat, things are great."

Mainly though we are working toward getting Joel's work recorded properly and building a backing band good enough to tour his evergrowing body of work. He has written a great deal of new material since we arrived that is establishing the foundation for a brand new record. In short he's very busy and trying hard to carve out more time to devote to getting his work produced in a proper studio and manufactured for your listening pleasure.

Back in THE CITY

Well, Joel made it to Nashville, he got everything setup for the move and is now back in New York. We are moving to Nashville for 6 months at least. We're going to miss our coffee shop mostly since, as he says, there is a shortage of coffee knowledge there. But we'll manage. Sorry to anyone who we aren't able to see before we leave but we'll be overwhelmingly busy for next week. Not to worry, we'll be back.

Post show notes: Well, if you missed this show then its very likely you will be kicking yourself 20 years from now. It was absolutely haunting. The crowd was drawn in almost from the very first note and Joel didn't let up for a second of the entire 40 minute solo set. The room was about 20% full, the sound quality was incredible, the stage lighting was perfect and Joel siezed space and time in this his most captivating performance yet.

Mobilize NOW - Engage on the front lines

A message from Joel

If New Orleans is not an indicator of our country's insanity, bigotry, stupidity and desperate need to switch gears then I believe the future for every citizen is one of forced submission to the plans and lusts of the powers that be.

I am not afraid. The fight for freedom and liberty is the citizen's responsibility. And one I gladly accept. Don't be silenced by fear of a brutal dictator whether it is your President, your neighbor, your local police or even someone in your own family.

It would seem that we are living in Germany circa late 1930's. Our rights are being erased while we sleep. And it must now be overwhelmingly apparent that if a citizen is poor(black or white or red or brown, regardless of color) they are most certainly expendable.

We must believe that it is better to have died in the fight for freedom than to live without it.

Not since the civil war has this country faced on a scale of this magnitude such openly brutal warfare among and against it own people. This event is beyond significant and must outrage us. If we are unable to feel this at our core and carry that with us not allowing our anger to be watered down then we have surely become the robots we have been programmed to be.
